Slow Movement

Please don’t rush.

“Living at such a fast pace has no sense. The art of living is about learning to give time to each and every thing” Carlo Petrini, the founder of Slow Food

It all began in 1986 in Rome's Piazza di Espagna. Journalist Carlos Petrini found himself before plans to open a well-known fast food restaurant in this historic setting and something spoke to him from within. Faced with the so-called fast food, he created SLOW FOOD. Following on from this movement would come successive applications for sex, education and work, to name a few.

Slow Movement

"Slow living” is a cultural change towards a deceleration in our way of life and towards greater enjoyment of the same.

“Slow" does note equate to being passive, but rather to the redistribution of our life energy towards fundamental values and attitudes with the goal of enjoying a better quality of life.

Below are a few pieces of advice which will help you live out this philosophy:

  • Undertake moderate physical activity at least once a week.
  • Do not overcrowd your diary with activities. Everything can wait.
  • Don’t look at the clock all the time. Do not use a wrist watch. On weekends, turn off the alarm clock and let yourself wake up at the natural time “chosen” by your own body.
  • Eat slowly, chew your food well.
  • Take a relaxing bath, all the better in good company.
